Then and Now
On the 28th of this month, Chloe will have been ours for 8 months. Ha ha, I just noticed she is eating a lolly pop both then and now. Some things never change!
SNOW
Shhh! Don't tell Blaine, but it snowed here two weeks ago and he doesn't know. See, Blaine goes to school with my sister about 30min. south and east of her, about 30min from New Orleans, and I made him go to school that day because I really did not think it was going to snow. I mean, I know what the weather man said, but this is South Louisiana and we just had snow in 2008 and 2004. What were the chances? Pretty good obviously. Blaine begged and begged to stay home from school because it was supposed to snow here, and I made him go because he had already missed a day that week due to illness, and I really didn't think it was going to snow. I bundled Chloe up (her school was canceled since the night before because of the chance it could snow) and took pictures of the beautiful white stuff. To this day, Blaine has no idea. The snow was completely gone by the time he got home from school, so I never mentioned it to him. I am a bad mommy, I know ;)
Why is Darth Vader in my son's bed?
Blaine loves him some Star Wars! This is how I found him one morning when I went into his room to wake him up for school. He is wearing a too-small Darth Vader costume. He didn't look like this when I put him to bed, so he obviously got up in the middle of the night to put this on. This isn't the first time he has done this either. I have caught him dressed like a Storm Trooper on more than one morning. Gotta love him, I know I do!
Please don't go!
GO SAINTS!
I have been a Saints fan all my life. Some of my fondest memories of my Mamier and Papier are from Sunday's during football season. My Mamier was a die hard Saints fan, and my Papier would say things to her about how bad the Saints were just to tick her off. He liked to do that! He was just joking, he just liked to make her mad. I wish my Mamier would have been here to see the Saints win their first ever Super Bowl.
Joe had Drill Super Bowl weekend so we had a low key affair at home with just us and the kids. Chloe loves to watch the Saints and everytime she sees a fleur dis lis she says "Dat's my Saints" and "Who Dat?"
The Zoo
We took the kids to the BR zoo a few weekends ago and we had a really nice time. The zoo in BR is not the best, but it wasn't crowded and the kids had a great time. We wanted to go to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, but with the Saints on a roll and Mardi Gras festivities gearing up, we decided we would wait to go there when things calmed down a little and it wasn't so crowded. GO SAINTS!!!!!
New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and my Birthday
No pictures. I was so sick I didn't get out of bed for a week. The kids had fun popping fireworks and enjoying New Year's Day with my extended family. I managed to get myself out of bed long enough to go to my birthday lunch with my family (my mom and I share a birthday, so it was her birthday lunch too). I am now officially in my mid 30's! (35) I used to think that was so old!
Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning
Because my husband can't wait for the kids to open presents, they usually open their presents from us on Christmas Eve, and from Santa on Christmas morning. All Blaine wanted for Christmas this year was a Nickeleodeon Slime Mini Laptop Dell computer, and declared it the "Best Christmas EVER" when Santa came through. Chloe had no idea what she wanted, so she got a Princess Motorized Scooter and she loved it!
Christmas Day with Maw Maw and Paw Paw
Christmas Program
I took Chloe with me to Blaine's Christmas program and she insited on bringing the fisherprice camera she had found in Blaine's room the week before. She stood in the isles like the paparazzi and snapped picture after picture of the program. I had to hold her back a few times because she wanted to go up to the stage to take pictures like she saw some of the moms doing. When Blaine came out on stage she started yelling "HI BLAINE" and waving really big. What did Blaine do? Well, he yelled "HEY CHLOE" right back and gave her a big wave as well. Have I mentioned that neither of my kids are shy?

Christmas Tree Obsessed
Like I said before Chloe really enjoyed Christmas. We would often find her by the tree just staring at the lights and ornaments and trying to find presents that might be hers. She just did not understand why all of the wrapped gifts were not for her. She loved Santa Clause, however, she did not want to sit on his lap. She got so excied to see all of the Christmas lights around town and loved singing GeGe Bells (Jingle Bells) at the top of her lungs. It is February now, and she is still singing it, although now she has kind of changed it up a little and is singing "Choclit mil, choclit mil, choclit all da waaaaaayyyyyy, HEY!" She loves chocolate in case you couldn't tell by her song.
Oh Christmas Tree!
